Good Governance
Good Governance is a concept which is widely discussed across political parties and society, but the implementation of it is missing on ground. Good Governance is meant to be focused on Minimum Government with maximum governance, but the reality is altogether different. India as a democracy has many challenges in its way to achieve the status of good governance which includes following challenges but not limited to.
Criminalization of Politics
As per the report of Association of Democratic Reforms, 43% of Members of Parliaments of Lok Sabha 2019 are facing criminal charges. It is a 26% increase as compared to 2014.
Corruption
As per Corruption Perception Index – 2019 (released by Transparency International, India’s ranking has slipped from 78 to 80.
Gender Disparity
As a democracy we have still not provided enough representation to the 50% population of our country, Swami Vivekanad ji said it is impossible to think about the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved.
Delay in Justice
We must empower our system to deliver timely justice, but in practical approach there are several factors, because of that a common man doesn’t get timely justice.
Marginalization of Socially & Economically Backward People
Socially & economically backward segment of the society have always been left behind in the process of development and growth, though our Constitution has a well-defined framework to uplift the marginalized segment of the society but in practice they are far behind if we compare them with mainstream society in many areas like education, economic prosperity, overall well-being etc.….
